Geotextiles

Yuan Da has a high reputation for the development and application of geotextiles for civil engineering and construction. Yuan Da's geosynthetic fabrics are manufactured to meet the strict mechanical and hydraulic requirements necessary to solve geotechnical and hydraulic engineering challenges.

The company's modern equipment, ISO9001 and CE accreditation, continuous product development and investment program delivers geotextiles manufactured to the highest international standards. Each batch is laboratory tested and certified. In addition to ongoing testing by the factory's modern textile testing laboratory, samples are regularly tested by independent laboratories.

Non-woven Geotextiles

Yuan Da manufactures a range of non woven fabrics from 17g/m2 to 1500g/m2 with a variation of +/- 5%. Yuan Da's range includes: needle punched staple fibre geotextiles; continuous filament spunbonded geotextiles; and thermal embossed fabrics suitable for reusable carry bags. These fabrics can be laser bonded or laminated with a PE film, as required.

The company's modern equipment, ISO9001 accreditation, continuous development and investment programme delivers geotextiles manufactured to the highest international standards. Each batch laboratory tested and certified.

Yuan Da's textile engineers also design and manufacture non woven fabrics for specific industrial and commercial applicatiosn such as: healthcare and hygiene, cleaning, filtration, food packaging, home furnishings, agribusiness, environment protection and promotions.

Continuous filament, spunbond polyester geotextiles

Produced on Italian looms using all new polyester resin Yuan Da's spunbonded continuous filament needle punched geotextiles are manufactured by the extrusion of fibres which are then laid down on a manufacturing "bed" and then needle punched from both top and bottom to entangle the fibres to produce a dimensionally stable geotextile. Heat bonding can be applied to further strengthen the fabric.

Staple fibre, needle-punched geotextiles

Yuan Da's polyester and polypropylene staple fibre geotextiles are needle punched from the top/bottom/top and heat bonded to achieve a strong and stable matrix. These non wovens have excellent physical and hydraulic properties and offer a cost effective alternative for protecting geomembrane liners against perforation and abrasion. The abrasion resistance of staple fibre, non woven geotextiles is particularly beneficial when only gravel fills are available.

Staple fibre geotextiles are particularly suited for drainage, filtration and soil separation in building, landscaping and engineering applications. The abrasion resistance of these non woven geotextiles is particularly beneficial when only gravel fills are available. A staple fibre geotextile delivers high through flow rates and excellent drainage performance while preventing fines migration. Their high elongation properties withstand severe installation damage and they are chemically resistant to naturally occurring soil environments.

Rolls can be supplied in widths from 0.6m to 6m and weights from 80gsm to 1200gsm.

Paving Fabrics

Yuan Da's polyester, non woven, continuous filament, fibre-fired paving fabrics significantly reduce reflective cracking when used in pavements on concrete roads, for repairing existing road surfaces and for the construction of new roads. When saturated with bitumen these geotextiles provide stress relief, waterproofing and reduce reflective cracking in new and existing paved roads.

Advantages :

  • Manufactured to ISO9001 standards using new polyester spun bonded continuous fibres, mechanically bonded by needle punching and fibre-fired.
  • High melt temperatures. These pavement fabrics do not melt at temperatures below 250oC.
  • The fibre-firing process enhances the stability of the fabric when hot bitumens/asphalt are applied. When exposed to hydrocarbons present in bitumen, the fabric is very stable and does not shrink or distort.
  • Very strong with high tear and puncture resistance. Spunbonded, needle punched technology results in higher tensile strengths for the same weight of fabric.
  • Minimal surface variation allows the paving fabric to rapidly absorb the applied bitumen and form a tight barrier with the road surface.
  • Ease of use. Having one side of the material fibre-fired ensures that the paving fabric will not be lifted by vehicle tyres. Yuan Da's own manufacturing process guarantees the quality of the material when it is laid.

Our paving fabrics are supplied in strong UV resistant packaging to prevent deterioration of the product during storage.

Reinforced Stitched Non-woven Polyester Geotextile

Reinforced stitched non-woven polyester fabric is used widely in Europe, the United States and Asia for stabilising coastal areas. This lightweight fabric offers exceptional strength and can be manufactured to meet specialist requirements. These fabrics are very cost competitive compared to alternative fabrics and offer superior resistance to attacks by vandals.

Heavy Duty Reinforced Stitched Non-woven Polyester Underlay

Yuan Da's new heavy-duty reinforced stitched non-woven polyester underlay protects liners from abrasion, puncture and vandalism and also prevents long term damage caused by indentation from stony soils under high static loads. The underlay consists of two layers of non-woven polyester fabric, needle-punched to an inner layer of reinforced stitched polyester fibres.

Traditionally subgrades had to be well compacted and offer an even grade, free from sticks, stones and protrusions to prevent any damage to the liner. This new heavy duty reinforced stitched non-woven polyester underlay offers a competitive alternative for rock armour underlays for stormwater outfalls, marine scour pads, pond and dam geo-textile underlays, woodchip underlay pads and separation layers. It also delivers improved performance when welding HDPE on undulating surfaces.

Polypropylene slit Woven Geotextiles

Depending on the customer's requirements, Yuan Da’s slit woven geotextiles are manufactured from high quality polypropylene using either sulzer or circular looms . These geotextiles develop strength at relatively low strains. A range of slit woven geotextiles is available to a maximum width of 6 metres.

UV stabilised woven polypropylene geotextiles can be used as part of erosion control systems, such as: silt fences and traps, for floatation curtains in dredging operations or as a temporary erosion control measure on non-vegetated slopes.

Needle Punched Composite Non-woven and Woven Geotextiles

Our range of composite geotextiles includes needle punched and laser bonded woven and non woven geotextiles. Needle punched geocomposites are made from UV resistant woven fabrics and a non-woven fabric. Needle punched geocomposites can be used:

  • As reinforced silt barriers to control turbidity and silt at its source and to contain silt runoff into streams.
  • For floating silt curtains to effectively control pollution during dredging operations in low current and wave situations.

Laser bonded geocomposites consist of a waterproof PE/HDPE/LLDPE membrane heat bonded between two layers of non woven polyester geotextile. The non woven geotextile protects the liner membrane from physical damage during installation and allows a coating to be applied to either surface, if required.
